Anna’s Arrival
When I recorded “Around 2.am” which was a collection of songs that really changed everything for me, some friends of mine used to let me sleep on the coach in their home in Ann Arbor after my sessions at Solid Sound Studios. They were dear & generous friends, Laura & George Naguchi.
I moved to Chicago to produce music afterwards, and one evening Laura called to tell me of the birth of her daughter Anna. She was glowing with joy, and after hanging up the phone, I sat down and wrote this fanfare in her honor. Seeing that Anna was wed very recently, it makes it doubly poetic…
Also, a bit of unabashed joy seemed like a good idea as we close out 2020…
