A dear friend and cowriter of songs, Dean Mann, turned me on to the poet Rimbaud.  It spun my head around.  Rimbaud wrote a poem entitled The Drunken Boat which was an apt metaphor for the life he lived.  When I put together The Fever Diaries cd, I was touring with Art Garfunkel as an opening act, writing for the networks out of NYC, while writing song after song…many of which came while I was pretending to sleep.  So the songs from this cd were a musical diary born in the fever of those days & nights.

Hence the name…
