Spring Came Early This Year – unreleased
I’d been reading Raymond Carver and was deeply moved by his prose, particularly his poem, Waiting. He writes with a world weary pen of the perils of wrong turns in the road. Ah but if you’re lucky, pay close attention, you might finally make a right one…the right one.
Lyrics
I wasn’t ready, how could I know?
my heart it was frozen, after all the years of snow
but when you smiled, I felt as though
SPRING CAME EARLY THIS YEAR
A surprise party, but only you came
to take off my coat, after all the wind & rain
now it feels like stroll, down a warm sunny lane
SPRING CAME EARLY THIS YEAR
Yes the sun can come out, the wind can come near
The clouds can roll by, then disappear
The moon it can rise, when the night first appears
cuz deep in my heart, one this is clear (oh my dear…)
You are the promise, I finally kept
at first I laughed, and then I wept
out of the darkness, I finally stepped
SPRING CAME EARLY
SPRING CAME EARLY
SPRING CAME EARLY THIS YEAR…
